Tongue

Geoffrey Nutter & Rachel Eliza Griffiths reading at the 2nd Annual New York Poetry Festival

Organized by the Poetry Society of New York, the 2nd Annual New York Poetry Festival took place on a lawn at the heart of Governor’s Island ringed by trees, reclamated stoneworks, and repurposed barracks. The lineup for the weekend-long event was incredibly diverse and readings happened simultaneously, poets’ voices sounding inwards from the corners of the field towards a small, solar-powered carousel.

Geoffrey Nutter performed on 21 July for Augury Books, mingling new work with songs. His “Prelude to What Comes Next” is the first poem in the first issue of Tongue.
